About the Rescue
Luna Voz de Esperanza A.C. is a rescue initiative in San José del Cabo founded by Trinidad Arreola. Created in response to the severe lack of support for animals suffering abuse, neglect, abandonment, and medical emergencies, this organization works as a voice for those who cannot ask for help.
Today, Trinidad cares for approximately 35 dogs while responding to cases of animal cruelty, dogs kept chained, animals abandoned, sick dogs without medical attention, and families who can no longer care for their pets. Her work is driven by compassion, urgency, and the belief that every animal deserves protection, dignity, and a chance to live without fear.
The Story Behind Luna
Luna Voz de Esperanza was born from the memory of Luna, a 9-year-old blue pit bull whose case deeply changed Trinidad’s life.
On Christmas Eve, six years ago, Trinidad responded to a heartbreaking report involving Luna. What she found revealed not only the cruelty Luna had suffered, but also the painful reality that many animals face when there are no real consequences for abuse.
Trinidad reported the case, joined a large march in La Paz, and fought for justice. But in the end, Luna did not receive the justice she deserved. That moment became a promise.
From that day forward, Trinidad committed herself to helping other animals like Luna throughout Los Cabos. Luna’s memory became a voice, a mission, and a reason to keep fighting for dogs who are suffering in silence.
Luna Voz de Esperanza focuses on some of the most difficult rescue cases in the San José del Cabo area, especially situations involving abuse, neglect, abandonment, and animals left without medical care.
The most common cases they respond to include:
Dogs kept chained or tied for long periods of time.
Abandoned dogs left to survive on their own.
Animals suffering abuse inside private homes.
Sick or injured dogs without veterinary attention.
Cases where indifference, apathy, or lack of consequences allow animal cruelty to continue.
Their work is urgent and deeply necessary. In many cases, they are the only ones showing up when an animal has no one else.
