About the Project
Building better pathways for rescue dogs.
The Good Strays Project was created to support and strengthen existing rescue efforts — not by replacing them, but by helping create more structure, visibility, and long-term opportunities for rescue dogs.
Through adoption support, community collaboration, volunteer networks, and future partnership programs, the project works to connect rescuers, adopters, fosters, and supporters into a more organized and sustainable system.
This is not about creating another rescue organization.
It’s about building better pathways — with clarity, intention, and long-term impact.
THE PROBLEM
Many shelters, rescue organizations, and independent rescuers are already operating beyond capacity. Thousands of dogs continue searching for homes while limited visibility, scattered information, and lack of support systems make adoption more difficult than it should be.
The issue is not a lack of compassion.
It’s a lack of structure, visibility, and sustainable infrastructure.
Without long-term solutions, rescuers are forced to remain in constant emergency response mode.
OUR APPROACH
We believe meaningful impact comes from building systems that create lasting opportunities.
Instead of focusing only on short-term rescue, The Good Strays Project focuses on improving adoption visibility, strengthening communication, supporting rescue partners, and creating future pathways beyond the traditional shelter system.
By connecting rescue organizations, volunteers, creatives, technology support, and future training partnerships, we aim to help transform individual rescue efforts into a more connected and sustainable network.
PROJECT 01 — INCREASING ADOPTIONS
The first and most urgent challenge is adoption.
Many rescue groups can no longer receive more dogs simply because there are not enough homes available. Increasing adoption opportunities is one of the most immediate ways to relieve pressure on shelters and rescuers while creating better outcomes for dogs.
Current initiatives include:
— A shared adoption platform featuring dogs from multiple rescue organizations and independent rescuers
— Future therapy and support dog pathway partnerships
— Creative volunteer support through photographers and graphic designers
— Technology assistance for rescue organizations needing help with websites, branding, and adoption systems
— Long-term infrastructure focused on visibility, communication, and adoption support
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
Structured System
A clear operational model that connects all parts of the process
Thoughtful Matching
Adoptions based on compatibility, not urgency
Real Support for Rescuers
Reducing workload through organization and communication
Long-Term Vision
Projects designed to solve root problems, not just immediate needs
LONG-TERM VISION
The goal is to build a system that continues to improve over time — where every process, every profile, and every decision contributes to better outcomes.
This includes developing long-term projects that address structural challenges within rescue environments, creating solutions that are sustainable and scalable.
